InterChez to Bring International Expertise to ITACs
On July 26, 2012, the U.S. Industry Trade Advisory Committees (ITACs) welcomed Mrs. Sharlene Ramos Chesnes of InterChez Logistics Systems, Inc., as an industry advisor on the board of ITAC 14 Customs Matters and Trade Facilitation. Ramos Chesnes was appointed by Acting U.S. Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank and U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Ron Kirk and will serve as an industry advisor for the remainder of the 2010-2014 charter term expiring February 17, 2014.
Established in 1974, the advisory committee system strives to ensure that U.S. trade policy and trade negotiation objectives accurately reflect the interests of the U.S. public and private sector. ITACs is one of twenty-eight committees that comprise the advisory committee system and is jointly administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative (USTR). ITACs industry advisors provide valuable insight into public and private sector industry perspectives and realities, counseling the Administration in the development of a trade agenda that encourages national economic growth.
As the CEO and Chairman of the Board of InterChez, a family of companies that manages national and international logistics and shipments, Ramos Chesnes said she is “honored to offer ITAC 14 valuable industry knowledge and expertise. As an ITACs industry advisor, I look forward to bringing a pro-business and practical approach to the identification of challenges and key objectives for multilateral, bilateral, and regional trade negotiations and trade-related policy matters.”
