InterChez Supports International Literacy
InterChez Global Services, Inc., was honored to support the Rotary Club of Sangre Grande in Trinidad and Tobago in its distribution of approximately 2,060 books to three elementary schools.
This shipment, which included children’s and young adult books as well as reference materials, launched an international literacy project proposed by Patrick Messmore, president of the Rotary Club of Stow-Munroe Falls. Messmore and his wife, a librarian, developed the book donation program out of a desire to help disadvantaged children worldwide and to further international literacy efforts. “We presented the idea to the Rotary Club, and the project was born,” Messmore stated.
InterChez Global Services, Inc., was delighted to support the Rotary Club’s efforts. When InterChez staff realized that the cargo was intended as a donation, they alerted senior management, who immediately approved the decision to waive service charges and to even cover the cost of transportation. Regarding the decision to donate InterChez’ expertise in international freight forwarding, InterChez owner Mark Chesnes stated, “We are humbled to have the opportunity to help out such a great cause.” Messmore highlighted the inherent reward each player received by assisting this effort to provide books to “children wanting and needing to learn how to read. We can’t thank those people involved [enough] for their time and efforts.”
